Lewis Hamilton Mika hakkinen are those with the most recent value among successful Formula 1 drivers of recent times. However, looking at it from an all-time perspective, the name Jim Clark cannot be ignored. Born in 1936 in Scotland, Jim Clark was only 32 when he died.
He participated in more than 70 races and won 25 championships. Tragedies on the racetrack for all too common and Jim Clark watched one of his competitors suffer a horrible fatality at a race.
He lost friend and fellow team member Stacy at another race. Much like that Schumacher Senna rivalry of a later era, his on track skirmishes with Jackie Stewart became much talked about. His last race in 1968 saw his car crash full speed into a copse of trees, an accident that killed him instantly. His death prompted overhauls to Formula 1 regulations, in an effort to make racing safer
